Categories : Fairs and Tradeshows, published on : 9/10/17

As Paris takes on the hues of autumn the city continues to be culturally vibrant, offering an eclectic selection of activities to visitors. Coming up in October are the Montmartre Grape Harvest Festival, the International Contemporary Art Fair and a trade show devoted entirely to chocolate. Come and stay at the Ouest Hotel Paris and take part in these exceptional events.

The Fête des Vendanges de Montmartre, a great pleasure shared

Since 1934, the Fête des Vendanges has taken place on the hill of Montmartre to celebrate the harvesting of the capital’s sole remaining vineyard. The 2017 edition, which runs from October 11th to 15th,  will feature a packed programme of activities, including tastings, walks, workshops, exhibitions, concerts, firework displays and parades all centred around the famous wine of Clos Montmartre. Come along and enjoy a free tour of the vineyard on the hill, with its three grape varieties and 3,000 vines. And while you’re in the vicinity, don’t miss an exhibition at the Musée de Montmartre dealing with the history of Montmartre in the movies. Then, in the Régulière cultural space, devoted to illustrated books, the artist Hélène Druvert creates a showcase inspired by shadow theatre. Finally, don’t miss the magnificent Sacré-Coeur Basilica.

FIAC in Paris, an exceptional international art event

The 44th edition of the FIAC (Foire Internationale d'Art Contemporain), taking place from October 19th to 22nd, 2017, welcomes nearly 180 galleries from more than two dozen countries throughout the world to the Grand Palais. These will be distributed between the General Sector and the Lafayette Sector, a programme supporting up and coming galleries. Meanwhile, On Site will feature sculptural works and installations on display in and around the Petit Palais and on the Avenue Winston Churchill. A third area of the FIAC, called Hors les Murs (Outside the Walls) will present the works of French and international artists in various public spaces such as the Jardin des Tuileries, Musée Eugène Delacroix and Place Vendôme. Come and discover the vitality of the international art scene by contemplating a panorama of modern creativity in extraordinary places.

The essential event for chocolate lovers

The Salon du Chocolat returns to the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Centre from October 28th to November 1st, 2017. This most indulgent, if not downright decadent, of trade fairs brings together 200 pâtissiers and 500 exhibitors from five continents for a celebration of all things chocolate and cocoa oriented. The event takes place in a space of 20,000 m² on two levels, and is the most prestigious of its kind in the world. You’ll enjoy plenty of opportunities for tasting this most tempting of foodstuffs, of course, but there will also be demonstrations by top chefs, workshops for adults and children, performances of music and dance, and much more. Don’t miss the amazing fashion show during which models hit the catwalk clad in dresses actually made of chocolate!
